Transparency is a term I have been hearing extensively. Municipal residents want clear and honest communication. The duty of council members is to help make decisions informed by the needs, desires, and goals of the community. I feel our council has continued to do their best to reflect these ideals, but I am excited to bring a fresh perspective.
For me, transparency means:
- Being able to be open about why all decisions are made
- Relay the benefits and concerns of each given item
- Listen actively to what Meaford residents want to see
- Explain how the process works, why decisions are made the way they are, and gain feedback on how we can do better by Meaford in the future
